The ECO-SOS Xerrada 2023-2024 is the opening event of the 2023-2024 academic year organized by the Center for Research in Economics and Sustainability (ECO-SOS).

The conference "Monetary policy and inflation", will be given by Jordi Galí (Pompeu Fabra University and President of The Catalan Society of Economics), academic of international prestige specialized on macroeconomic theory and monetary economics.

The event will take place on Friday, October 6, at 12 noon, in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Business and Economics in Reus (Av. de la Universitat, 1)

6th ECO-SOS Doctorials, 1 June 2023

ECO-SOS Doctorials is a workshop designed to improve the training of doctoral students and disseminate their research activities. Specifically, they can present standard papers (20-minute presentation) and research ideas (5-minute presentation). In addition, there is also a presentation by a senior ECO-SOS researcher with the aim of explaining his/her research. This event takes place twice a year: before the PhD Workshop on Industrial and Public Economics (WIPE), in December, to serve as training for participating students, and before the summer, also as a training before the period in which most conferences and workshops are scheduled.

The 6th ECO-SOS Doctorals will be held on June 1 at the Faculty of Business and Economics of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, in Reus. In this edition we will have 4 doctoral students who will present their research and we will have a final presentation "Non-manipulability by clones in bankruptcy problems" by Francesc Llerena, senior member of the Department of Business and Management.

Round table on the barriers that women economists have overcome, moderated by Cori Vilella, professor in the Department of Business and Management and deputy head of ECO-SOS. Took part Mònica Boquera, delegate of ACCIÓ in Tarragona; Blanca Cabré, entrepreneur and Vocational Training teacher; Anna Estrada, former deputy executive director of CIDOB, and Catalina Jordi, professor in the Department of Economics.

On May 23 at 13:15 CEST face to face in Sala de graus of the Faculty of Business and Economics and also by Teams Alejandro Esteller-Moré (UB) will present her working paper "Fiscal Knowledge and its Impact on Revealed MWTP in COVID times: Evidence from Survey Data".

The format of presentation will be seminar type (25-30 min + final questions).

The 6^th edition of ECO-SOS Converses will be next May 15^th at 1:00 pm. at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, in Reus. The speaker will be ÀLEX ARENAS (University Professor of the Computer Engineering and Mathematics Department of the URV) who will have an informal chat with the title "On human behavior in an epidemic", and will talk to us about the evolution of prevention measures in an epidemic.
