Closing ceremony of the 2023/2024 academic year of the IU-RESCAT

Closing ceremony of the 2023/2024 academic year of the University Institute for Research in Sustainability, Climate Change and Energy Transition (IU-RESCAT) on Friday 31th May.
The event "CLIMATE CHANGE AND SUSTAINABILITY WITH A GENDER PERSPECTIVE" will take place at firaReus and will include the keynote speech "An inter- and trans-disciplinary approach to current global crises" by Dr. Federica Migliardo (Professor of Experimental Physics of the University of Messina).
After that there will be the round table ("Strategies facing the uncertainty of a changing world") with Dr. Migliardo; post-doctoral researcher Anna Boqué (C3, IU-RESCAT) and pre-doctoral researcher Barbara Zelu (ECO-SOS). The panel will be moderated by Dr. Josep-Maria Arauzo-Carod, vice-Chair of IU-RESCAT.
At the end there will be a Vermouth offered by Reus City Council.

8th ECO-SOS Doctorials, 30 May 2024

ECO-SOS Doctorials is a workshop designed to improve the training of doctoral students and disseminate their research activities. Specifically, they can present standard papers (20-minute presentation) and research ideas (5-minute presentation). In addition, there is also a presentation by a senior ECO-SOS researcher with the aim of explaining his/her research.
This event takes place twice a year: before the PhD Workshop on Industrial and Public Economics (WIPE), in December, to serve as training for participating students, and before the summer, also as a training before the period in which most conferences and workshops are scheduled.
The 8th ECO-SOS Doctorals will be held on May 30 at the Faculty of Business and Economics of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, in Reus. In this edition we will have 5 doctoral students who will present their research and we will have a final presentation "Non-emptiness of the core of minimum cost spanning tree games with revenues: a necessary and some sufficient conditions" (joint with B. Subiza andJ.E. Peris, Universitat d'Alacant) by José-Manuel Giménez-Gómez, senior member of the Department of Economics.

Round Table 'The regulation of VTC in Europe and the sustainability of urban transportation'

On Wednesday, May 22 at 12:00 noon, the Round Table "The regulation of VTC in Europe and the sustainability of urban transportation" will take place, coordinated by the European Documentation Center of the URV and the ECO-SOS Research Center. There will be a panel discussion with interventions by different speakers both from the academic and professional fields, who will provide their vision regarding the aforementioned topic from an economic and legal point of view. More in precisely, the regulation of low-emission zones will be addressed with regard to the circulation of taxis and VTCs. We will count with the participation of Xavier Fageda, Emilio Domínguez, Thibaud Simphal and Marc Tarrés. The session will be moderated by Ricardo Flores.

Technical Conference 'ENERGY AND ECOLOGICAL TRANSITION'

On Friday, May 10 at 9:00 am., the "Energy and Ecological Transition" Technical Conference will take place, within the framework of the "Social Perception and Ecological Transition under a Multi-Dimensional Socio-Economic Analysis of the Spanish Regions" project. Panel discussion with interventions from different views on the ecological and energy transition in Spain, presenting the main results of the perception of the ecological transition in the 17 Spanish Autonomous Regions. We will have the participation of Maria Llop Llop, Lucía Blanco Cano, Leonardo Bejerano i Manjón, Jaume Morron, Carles Riba and Enric Aguilar.
